Under a Blue Flag was a good sequel to An Island Away!! While on vacation in Aruba in February, by chance Daniel Putkowski was doing a book signing at our resort. I bought An Island Away, met the author and he signed the book. Didn't get a chance till recently to read the book and loved it!!! When to Amazon and found the sequel Under a Blue Flag and just finished reading this as well. The sequel left you wanting more. Thoroughly enjoyed both books and find the author very easy to read. To enjoy this book you must first read An Island Away. My only complaint was that it ended!!!! I am looking forward to another sequel so we are able to find out what became of the characters.Product details

We travel to Aruba annually and this was a book that shows you what the tourists don't see, the other side of the island.
The author lives there part time so he has a good grasp on things.
This sequel is the continuation of Luz's life in Aruba and also the life of her son. I do not think it went into developing the characters as much as the first book because the author has assumed (correctly in this case) that we have read the first book. I think that this book doesn't stand alone as well as the first book and also sets the scene for a third (which we all are now waiting for), or it would have ended differently.
Have a timeshare in Åruba but very rarely go to the "other side" of the island. Loved reading about what went on and still goes on there.
Love Aruba and this book gives you insight about years ago. The people and locations.
Aruba what an Island. I've been going to Aruba since 1978. This book brings back so many wonderful memories. The author writes about the past in the Island that's gone now. What a past it had. It a beautiful and safe Island. It has change a lot in the years of going there. He takes you to a time when it was just an island and the people had a history. It was very interesting simply life. I loved the book.
It you have ever been to the island of Aruba, this book brings you back even if you are reading it six months after you left from your visit. The author is very detailed in his writing and keeps your interested as he returns you to the island again with its warm waters, white sandy beaches and wonderful climate.
This sequel was better than the first book (An Island Away) and easier to read as the print was a bit larger and only 300 pages long. The first book was 500 pages and could have been written in less than that. Both books were enjoyable, especially if you have visited Aruba and can identify with some of the locations, sites, etc mentioned in both books.
